If you haven’t read the beautiful love story and romantic engagement of my two friends Kayla & Kade, be sure to take a peep here.
Being this my first ever engagement to witness and participate in, I was a bit unsure of what to wear. Since the plan hinged on the girls and I taking pictures pre-engagement, I decided to opt for something cute but understated and made sure that is was also light and airy.
Even in May, Alabama heat is burning something fierce, so I knew going in that whatever I was to wear it had to withstand the thick heat and few buckets of sweat.
I have literally been daydreaming about this outfit since the day I wore it! I am absolutely in LOVE with pastel colors this season (and they are so easy to find!). This look would work great for a summer vaycay, a night out with the girls, or just a fun backyard BBQ.
Top & Bottoms
I opted for a new blush pink silky short sleeve top with flowy sleeves paired with high-waisted palazzo pants with an elastic waist for extra comfort (literally pajama pants). Since the pants were high-waisted and both the top and the bottoms were large and flowy, I decided to tie the top into a little knot in the front to indicate more separation between the two, and show some skin. Both garments were found on my last trip to Target. Links and dupes linked below.
Click here for the Pink Ruffle Top ($25) : Online this top has a 2/5 star rating. I think this may be because the top is a bit oversized. I am wearing an extra-small were my normal size would be a small or medium. Just something to keep in mind when shopping!
Click here for the Striped Palazzo Pants ($23) : I recently saw Tash Oakley wearing what I thought were these exact pants in one of her insta posts. Turns out they are from Revolve and are way more expensive than the Target brand (go figure). But if you like her style these pants make for the perfect dupe for her look! You could even fold in the elastic part to create that seamless look Tash is rocking. Keep in mind these pants are pretty long. I am 5′ 9″ and they are about an inch too long on me when I am barefoot!

Accessories
I’m not usually one to accessorize. The “less is more” habit is one that I am trying to break when it comes to ice. In this case, I opted for a couple of cool-toned bracelets, gold dangle earrings with turquoise accents, and was actually gifted the gold nameplate necklace on the way to the event by my dear friend! This outfit is definitely one of my favorites for the summer. Target has definitely stepped up their style game in the past year or two. What do Y’all think? Leave me a comment below!
As always, stay wild.
Oh, I love the striped pants trend! Your outfit is really lovely with the pastel colours ❤
