How to Style: Sassy Springtime Workwear!

Hey Wild Child!

Spring has sprung & and I am in high-gear to shift my wardrobe to the bright, happy colors that complement it.

Personal update: I am finishing up my last few weeks of my MBA program at Alabama. I am SO ready to be finished with school (not learning), and finally start my life! Eugene and I just got our first little baby – a Shar Pei pup named Gnocchi (after my favorite pasta) – and are in the middle of moving from Birmingham, AL to DENVER!  WoooHooo! I will be posting updates on my blog and social media along the way.

Since I am oh-so-close to being a real workin’ girl, I thought I would share a fun, Springy workin’ girl’s outfit!

Surprise, Surprise. This fabulous blue dress is from Rent the Runway! It is the perfect length for work, but is fun and flirty enough to wear to post-work dinner + cocktails! This was actually this first piece from Rent the Runway that Eugene said I should buy – he liked it that much! (I was surprised, lol.)

I will leave my link for $30 off your first Rent the Runway purchase at the end of the post.  Links for all pieces will be at the end as well!

The Dress.

You should feel this material. It is silky and soft with the slightest hint of a pattern that makes this modern twist on a classic piece even more enticing. From the feminine cuffs on the sleeves, to the asymmetrical loose ruffle along the hem – this is a piece that you could keep as wardrobe essential for the next five years. Plus, I don’t a person who wouldn’t just glow in this shade of blue.

The Sneaks.

Another closet staple. Adidas Originals in the simple black and white color-block can elevate any look regardless of occasion to the ultimate street-wear chic (I’m convinced.) The great thing about these sneakers is that they are relatively cheap + comfortable so I won’t feel bad completely wearing them out this year and buying a new pair in 2020.

I purchased these a couple of weeks ago from Nordstrom Rack for about $60! They instantly became my go-to shoe in my closet.

The Baubles.

BaubleBar. ‘Nough said. I picked up these bad-ass beauties at Nordstrom in ATL a few months ago knowing they would be my favorite statement piece of  S/S19! I am SO glad I picked them up when I did bc, they are completely SOLD OUT now! It is so hard to even find a picture of them online!

One of the trends I’ve picked up on for S/S19 is rainbow everything (think rainbows + tie dye + neon). I am SO DOWN for this trend. Rainbows make me happy & these earrings are the perfect way to rock this upcoming style.

The Bag.

I’ll be honest. I don’t have many bags or purses. Most of the ones that I do have are more suitable for the F/W months. This little beaded stunner I bought a few years ago at a local yard sale for only $FIVE$ dollars. With the tag still inside. Forrealz. It is the perfect simple piece to polish off this outfit.

Today’s lesson: Don’t knock it till you try it. Second-hand shopping, that is.
